Seam embellishment stitch combination 23
Chevron stitch is the foundation row for this combination. Motifs, beads or sequins can be placed in between the V shapes or along the top and bottom of the row. In this case I have illustrated this with three detached chain stitches and two straight stitches topped off with French knots, sequins or beads.

Both of these are based on buttonhole worked with the spines gradually getting larger. This can also be done using Berwick stitch.
No 24 is two rows buttonhole embellished with French knots, sequins or beads.
No 25 is a foundation row of buttonhole with floral motifs worked fern stitch and 5 French knots, or beads worked diagonally in one direction. Alternating these placed on the lower line of the buttonhole pointing in the other direction are 5 straight stitches arranged in a ray with French knots, sequins or a bead placed at the center.

No 26 is another variation.

As you can see the variations are numerous.

Once again these combinations start off with a foundation row of buttonhole this time arrange is hills either side of the central line.
No 28 is worked with two rows of buttonhole space well apart to allow for further embellishment. I have arranged tulip stitch in clusters of 3 and placed a diagonal row of 4 petal daisies worked in detached chain stitches.
No 29 is another possible variation this time with semi circles of buttonhole framing either a sequin, bead or you could place a floral motif in the middle.
Seam embellishment stitch combination 30 and 31
The foundation row of buttonhole has to be worked wide for this to work. The yellow floral sprigs are the same as in stitch combination 1with the stems worked in stem stitch or whipped stem with detached chain leaves and french knots or beads for the flowers. A floral motif made with a quarter Buttonhole wheel on stem which is flanked by detached chain stitches form 'leaves' and once again French knots, sequins or beads can be placed at the base of the flower. The daisy motif is worked in detached chain. The snail can be either a thicker thread couched on with a bullion for the body a french knot of the head, finishing it off with straight stitch and a small french knot for the eyes.
No 31 is the same foundation base this time with arches of small buttonhole worked in a semicircle interspersed with rays of straight stitches.
