Crazy quilt 8 inch blocks

Stitches used and information about this Crazy quilt block.

Firstly the block is an 8 inch block made up of a foundation of cotton brocades, and some fabrics were acquired in swaps with fellow quilters.

In the top left hand corner is a cluster of vintage buttons. Below is a vintage lace collar. Along the side I couched down some thick thread using feather stitch worked in a rayon thread. The flowers are sequins.

The seam treatment directly below that is running to the right is a ribbon couched down with detached chain stitches and the thick thread which is a fine metallic braid is laced through them. The beads a little cheap plastic beads with a flower motif etched into them. Below that line is cluster of bullion roses worked in wool threads and sprinkled with seed beads.

Pointing towards the top right hand corner is ribbon couched with tied herringbone worked in a DMC Pearl. This has been further enhanced with silk ribbon rose buds and a row of mother of pearl buttons interspersed with beading.

The top right hand corner has some vintage lace which I hand dyed and enhanced with beading which uses novelty beads, bugel and seed beads. The pattern of the lace is picked out and enhanced.
