American Needlepoint Guild (ANG) is an educational, non-profit organization whose purpose is to encourage interest in needlepoint which they define as any counted or free stitchery worked by hand with a threaded needle on a readily countable ground.They host a stitch a month section and other articles form their publication Needle Pointers are archived.

Braid Society [UK] a society interested in looping, braiding, kumihimo, tablet, inkle, lucet, ply splitting, finger weaving, and sprang.The society runs a mailing list which is open to members and non-members discussing the topic.

Canberra Quilters : Quilting guild interested in promoting aspects of patchworking and quilting.Founded by Margaret Rolfe.

Charted Designers of America: This non profit organisation of designers and suppliers of needlework charts and kits aims to standardise and promote the charted design industry. This site includes directions for basic counted cross stitch, and ribbon embroidery stitches.

Computer Textile Design Group:An association for those whose textile practice combines computer technology with embroidery, surface design, quilting, lace-making and other textile processes

Melbourne Kumihimo Group A group affiliated with the Handweavers and Spinners Guild of Victoria Inc interested in kumihimo and Japaneses braiding.Contains a brief article about Japanese Braiding
