Usually interesting 'spotlight' article (found via the introduction section) highlighting some aspect of embroidery. This site also has free patterns, a stitch glossary, how to articles and tips and tricks.

Embroiderer's Guild (UK) Contains the collection showcase section and information and articles found via the publications section. Stitch Magazine is also produced by the Guild and the site houses articles a free projects.
Fabrics.net Very large portal site with contemporary, conservation and historical information on needlework and fabric. Includes: Search Engine, Directory, Sources, Custom Search, Fabric Fact and Find Mailing List, Retail, Wholesale, Fiber and Fabric Information
Fibrearts online a well organized clearly structured directory site of resources related to all aspects of fiber includes an Artist gallery.
Godey's Lady's Book An online version of a popular lady's book of the 19th century.
Harper's Bazaar Magazine: The articles, illustrations, and Victorian fashions from the 19th Century magazine, Harper's Bazaar are of historical interest.
Interweave Beading Beadwork magazine online with free projects and articles.
National Quilt Register: has been supported by major museums and heritage organisations, women's groups and individuals across the country. They state that the register is "Women joining with other women to record our history through quilts". It is also research register that believes all quilts and their stories are equally significant, from the finely stitched to the humble and functional. Believing that museums are more than just their collections but the stories behind the objects the register also collects the stories behind the quilts which can be found on the site. You can also register quilts made before 1965 you may have. You can search or browse by stories grouped under subject lists. You can also browse by quilting style in the quilt tree. Many of the quilts have at least one image associated with them some have more. It's the sort of site you find yourself happily lost in for hours.
