Annie Whitsed : statement

The stage coach represents the long history of New Orleans...

The wisteria and cat in the garden are for the people that made New Orleans there
home...

The Saxophone and Violin for the Jazz, the shoes and mask for the Mardi Gras, the things that New Oreleans became known for...

in the bead trail I incorporated a hammer and nails, scissors and thread, symbols of the rebuilding that will
be needed and a clock for the passing of time as our lives go on through the seasons, the highs and lows, the disasters and the triumphs as life goes on…

The moon in the sky is to represent that we are all connected, the sun and moon that I see are the same ones that shine on New Orleans and the computer charm representing cyber space, because without our computers and the internet this wonderful crazy quilt would not have been created…

Annie Whitsed keeps a website Annies Crazy Studio and has a blog Annies Crazy World
