As with most of the blocks in this crazy quilt this 8 inch block is worked on crazy patched foundation of synthetic and natural and recycled after 5 fabrics.
The floral spray up the left side of the block is made up of silk ribbon flowers using Japanese ribbon stitch. The smaller daisies are bullion stitches with detached chain around the outside of them. These stitches are arranged in a circle. The spray also contains feather stitch worked in DMC Pearl 5 and little circular floral motifs worked in cast on stitch with a bead sewn in the middle. French knots and seed beads are also dotted about the area.
In the bottom right hand area the lace was hand dyed and edged with Pekinese stitch using a fine ribbon. Below that is an arrangement of straight stitches. The red and black braid also has straight stitches splaying along the sides. In the top right corner below the cluster of buttons is a variety of feathered chain stitch. Below this sheaf stitch and below this almost in the middle of the block is two rows of tied herringbone worked in DMC pearl 5. In the middle of the row a novelty bead was sewn. In the top left hand corner zig zag chain is topped off with bugle beads, straight stitches and seed beads.
