National Quilt Registry Australian quilts and stories are recorded here. The National Quilt Register has been supported by major museums and heritage organisations, women's groups and individuals across the country. They state that the register is "Women joining with other women to record our history through quilts". This research organization believes all quilts and their stories are equally significant, from the finely stitched to the humble and functional. Believing that museums are more than just their collections but the stories behind the objects the register also collects the stories behind the quilts which can be found on the site. You can also register quilts made before 1965 you may have. You can search the register for particular quilts using keyword, owners name, makers name, by date and location or browse by stories grouped under subject lists. You can also browse by quilting style in the quilt tree. Many of the quilts have at least one image associated with them some have more. Its the sort of site you find yourself happly lost in for hours.
