I am sure by now any reader will have twigged to the point I am making with these.

These four combinations all consist of elements I have already used in previous combinations they are just arranged differently. The trick to making crazy quilting look as though there are dozens of different stitches is just to experiment with different combinations.

Another tip is to change the colour, weight and texture of your thread. Perhaps use a dull thread for the foundation row, a shinny rayon for the motifs and perhaps a metallic of the arches. have some thread s thicker than others and for a bit of zest add a bead or two.

These two have a foundation row of straight stitches arranged in a zigzag manner. these are really a version of Arrow stitch. Once again I have used elements I have already used in previous combinations they are just arranged differently.

Another trick is to double the foundation rows creating spaces in between to place motifs or elements.
